NORDIC BESS, with offices in Norway and the UK, is a recently established company resulting from a demerger of business units from Eco Stor AS, a pioneer and leading supplier of both first and second life battery energy storage solutions.
Nordic BESS has been established to build, own and operate Battery Energy Storage Systems across the Nordics and emerging markets. The Finance Manager role will be overseeing the financial activities across Nordic BESS and ensure good financial health, company compliance and process flow.
Due to the size and maturity of the company the role requires a strong willingness to adapt to the day-to-day operations and handle the ad-hoc cases that occur.

The position will report to our CEO and will be based in our main office in central Oslo. Some traveling may be expected.
Key tasks & responsibilities:
Company-wide financial management & administration
Manage day-to-day finance and accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and the general ledger.
Prepare and publish timely and accurate financial statements.
Develop, implement, and maintain internal control procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance
Manage preparation of the company's budget and financial forecasts and report on variances
Manage cash flow to ensure the company's financial health
Serve as the main point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
General administration related to supplier management and contract management for business goods and services such as office space, materials, IT services, etc.
Drive the internal process for financial management and controlling process and rules, software, and on-boarding of employees
Project controlling and accounting for utility-scale BESS projects
Financial planning and financial risk management of international construction projects (of power grid assets) in the order of the tens of millions of Euros.
Partner with project manager to develop and manage project-specific budgets and financial forecasts.
Track project revenue and manage revenue recognition based on project milestones and contract terms.
Conduct regular financial analysis of project performance, identifying trends and variances against budget.
Provide regular reporting on project profitability, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to stakeholders.
Oversee project-specific billing, invoicing, and contract-related payment processes.
Responsibility for controlling of all project expenditures, ensuring adherence to budget and compliance with financial regulations, requirements, and financing agreements.
As the business grows the Finance Manager will become involved in strategic processes such as infrastructure project financing, capital structure optimization and strategic funding solutions including presentation of plans to investors. Experience within these fields is a great advantage however it is currently not a requirement.
Desired qualifications:
Bachelor`s or Master`s Degree in finance & administration, or related
3-5 years of relevant experience, ideally in an international project-based environment
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and forecasting
Skilled in financial software and accounting systems, and capable of data analysis and presentation
Strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively interact with project teams, senior management, and external partners.
Self-driven personality with initiative, and ability to work independently and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced small company environment
